The Shelby County Democratic Party and the Shelby County Young Democrats have been granted a temporary restraining order to stop the distribution of misleading ballots.
The Shelby County Democratic Party and the Shelby County Young Democrats have been granted a temporary restraining order to stop the distribution of misleading ballots. The order which can be seen here stops the distribution of ballots produced by the so called Greater Memphis Democratic Club and the Shelby County Democratic Club. These ballots included symbols and slogans synonymous with the Democratic Party in general and the SDCP specifically and also endorsed Republicans.
“This was a step forward for the Shelby County Democratic Party, but there’s definitely more work to be done. And above all things we want to make sure voters are getting information that is accurate” , Shelby County Democratic Party Chairman, Michael Harris
The Shelby County Election Commission has received the restraining order and will send notice to the poll workers to make them aware.
