About the event

During Planned Parenthood's Advocacy Day, HB2779/SB2582, will be heard by the House Health Subcommittee from 12:00-1:30PM CT. This is a Texas-style anti-abortion bill that would expose anyone helping someone get an abortion to a lawsuit. Unlike Texas, this is a TOTAL abortion ban. The chilling effects of this law would likely close clinics across Tennessee, as they already have in Texas. Pack the Room in Pink with us from 12:00-1:30PM CT so our legislators know we won't be initimated and we will never stop fighting for abortion rights. This is NOT a drill: Roe v. Wade is in jeopardy, and abortion could be illegal in Tennessee as soon as this summer. Right now our state legislature is poised to pass anti-abortion laws that will make this horrifying reality even worse. Will you fight with us?

Whether you're a brand new activist or a seasoned advocate, Planned Parenthood Advocacy Day has something for you:

  • Virtual or in-person meeting & training opportunities
  • Meet with state legislators to send the message that Tennesseans will not back down in the fight for reproductive freedom
  • Learn about the bills we're watching this session and how to be an effective grassroots lobbyist on issues like abortion, transgender rights, and HIV decriminalization
  • Build your knowledge and advocacy skills to be prepared for the current fights and the fights we'll face in a post-Roe Tennessee
