for County Commissioner District 2
Your representative on the Shelby County Commission should be someone that is deeply committed to your community through civic engagement, outreach, service, and public affairs without any possible conflicts of personal business interests. As your candidate for the District 2 seat, I have a proven track record of community service and civic engagement.
I graduated from Germantown High School in 1980 and recently retired from International Paper here in Memphis. My entire extended family lives right here in Collierville. I currently serve on the Board of Trustees for WKNO, the local public radio and television stations, as the Chair for Community Relations. We are actively involved in the life of our church at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church here in Collierville and I am currently a full-time graduate student at Memphis Theological Seminary working on a Masters of Arts in Religion.
Together with my wife, Lee, I serve as mentor and tutor to a wonderful young man, a rising sophomore at Booker T Washington High School as a part of a mentoring program at our church in partnership with the Emmanuel Episcopal Center in Memphis. We are active supporters of St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, the Church Heath Center, Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA), and our local public schools. We are very active in our neighborhood homeowner’s association and we love living here in Collierville.
Needless to say, we are deeply connected to and invested in our community. I share these as a sample of our ongoing commitment to Shelby County, Memphis, and Collierville. I would genuinely appreciate your support and vote for Shelby County Commission on August 2.
